Following Melbourne Opera’s successful seasons of Wagner’s Tannhäuser and Rienzi, we present a new production of Lohengrin in the Robert Blackwood Hall. An all star international cast has been assembled for this epic tale of love and loss, featuring some of Wagner’s most moving music and magnificent ensembles. Marius Vlad returns to sing the title role (following his enormous success in Tannhäuser) and is joined by Australian soprano Helena Dix, making her international debut as Elsa following her engagement at the Met.
The 70 strong Melbourne Opera Chorus is joined by the 80 piece Melbourne Opera Orchestra with Greg Hocking conducting. This exciting new production is directed by Suzanne Chaundy.
